5 minute log-off timer maybe fails if user is busy

I was fishing quite vigorously when I got the message "You can't log out right now". I was in the middle of an action so the autologout got cancelled I guess.
Force logouts are a little hard to handle, possibly leading to duplication bugs / repeat XP if not done right. The current behaviour is preferable to those bugs, but I don't think it is correct.
