Game integrity and addy

While talking with Conker and their ever-vigilant eyes, they mentioned that they think they sold an Adamantite Plate Mail Top (female version) to the shop for far more than expected, but asked me to verify and check. I checked. The adamantite plate mail top was valued at 30800 coins in 2001 (more expensive than later), so all was good. But wait...

There was an update on 8 December 2001 that reduced the price of the body (male version) to 12800 coins, its price in Sundae. And they can be converted for free at Thrander. So there's a way to easily make 18k, or 522K per inventory! shocked

I did some digging and found out that this wasn't fixed until March 2002, leaving it in the game for 4 whole months. Since this exploit was never widely known, I decided to patch it in Perfect for game integrity. Players running Sundae in single player get the authentic experience and can choose whether they wish to exploit this.

Interesting and pretty random. I wonder how that bug happened. Since it doesn't seem there is any decimal error or dividing/multiplying with wrong number. Maybe there is some other item which has that 30800 sell value that they just accidently copy pasted.

24 May 2001 - both top and body cost 30800
8 December 2001 - body updated to cost 12800
March 2002 - top updated to cost 12800

Wow, that's a pretty long time for that difference to have been there. I wonder if any players back in the day abused it.

That's a very interesting discrepancy and it was in the game for a surprisingly long time, it does make you wonder how many players made some money off of it. In any case, this is clearly one of those situations where integrity outweighs authenticity, I think it's important to think about intent when considering authenticity, especially when it can have such a big impact.
