Able to retreat from combat too early

In RSC Sundae when I attack I'm able to retreat immediately after my 3rd hit. When done so the opponent only gets 2 hits at me.
In RSC+ replay: 08-04-2018 11.48.43 - F2P FFA Part 2 - Fighting at castle
At timestamp 01:17:26 you can see Charatix attacking other player. After Charatix the attacker hits 3rd time and before the opponent has made their 3rd hit there appears the text "You can't retreat during the first 3 rounds of combat". Only after the opponent has managed to hit their 3rd hit Charatix manages to retreat from the combat.
It took me pretty long to find this kind of example and I was hoping they would spam click the retreat but I think that 1 line fits perfectly in between those to hits so it might be a good example.
In OpenRSC you can retreat only after the opponent who you attacked has managed to do their 3rd hit too if it matters anything here.
