No pending PRs that threaten to topple the house of cards...
Maybe it's true I really just need to get back to development & fix the old server & get it to a place where I can feel good about it again, but, until then, it has been nice to log in to RSC Perfect once-in-a-while and just enjoy playing RS1. It is "Logg's Vacation". ^^
I have been multilogging two characters (cheater!!). One is pretty much just an expanded bank for all the cruft I don't really need, but that might change.

I've been thinking about if it's worth it to use a second/third account to mine gold on Karamja, one account mining, one or two accounts running, (depending on how fast it is). I would need combat level 50 on both the miner and runner(s) to make skeleton encounters optional (a good source of runes, GP, and combat XP if there *is* any downtime mining gold). I know it's a lot less noble and traditional than what Nerb did, but options for Crafting materials in December 2001 I'm finding out are pretty limited. Apparently, that scarcity was not a design feature that the Gowers cared very much about at the time, since they were ready to add the Crafting Guild just a couple months later (though it could be argued this was done under duress, to add compelling $5/month Members content ASAP).

Another option I considered was Silver and Clay, at the mine south-west of Varrock. I found it was possible to get 3 silver ore and 24 clay in one inventory (waiting for the single silver ore to respawn). I wore a chef's hat so I could get Water inside the Cooking Guild, a pickaxe, and a bucket claims the 30th slot. Clay is actually really fast Crafting XP since the rock repletes almost instantly, but it *is* rather click intensive (must time the clicks as well to be optimally efficient), and you can only sell 16 bowls before the general store considers them worthless, so, 16 GP per inventory, and no Smithing XP either... If I *had* to do Crafting on just one account, I would consider this option more thoroughly, it might be the fastest.

But, I really need to make money so that I can afford Rune armour and weaponry. Right now I'm using Steel that I smithed myself, and a Mithril longsword, (even though my Attack is over 40 now). XP scales by four, but GP does *not*, so, it led to the strange situation where "steel armour I smithed myself" was genuinely the best armour I could get my hands on at first, and all the money I made smithing went into the Mithril Longsword. Getting the Crafting grind going with Gold Necklaces & selling to Grum should pretty much fix me up I reckon. Eventually I'll be able to make a Strength Amulet, which is another goal, so, Crafting with Gold is definitely the way forward. Even without multilogging, I might still consider the long walk to reach the four gold in the Volcano, since the long walk to reach Edgeville Dungeon Mine isn't really very short either...

So that's all what I've been up to. ^^ Finding a few niche bugs while doing it, but overall I'm really impressed with what has been done here (and a bit jealous as well).
Really nice work so far, glad you're having fun, it's no secret that it's nice to get away from the workload sometimes and just enjoy the game for what it is and I'm glad you have found that for the time being. Honestly it's really easy to get "distracted" from the game with bug fixes and community concerns and such and it makes you wonder why, at times, it's not quite as fun as it was or as it should be but being here has really kind of reignited that for me.
Keep up the grind and I'll be looking forward for the pizza party it looks like you're getting ready to host based on the ingredients you've gathered so far!
I totally get using the steel armor for a while, that was basically my primary gear too until I could jump up to addy and then shortly after that rune armor. I would have gone from steel to rune but I spent a bit of extra time getting addy because I was afraid elvarg would beat me up too quickly although it turned out to be a non issue with the the safe spot(s) available.
Best of luck moving forward, gold necklaces can definitely take care of a lot of the money troubles so I would stay on that until you are satisfied in that regard and maybe throw in some free gathering skills on the side to have a little variety if you get bored.
heart Excellent idea to host a Pizza Party. It'll be an Anchovy Pizza party, so look forward to it. Probably around Christmas time. santasmile
I have heard a rumour that Crackers and Party Hats will not be available, (not present in mudclient110, and has lead to a lot of undesirable social behaviours in the past...) so perhaps the traditional Anchovy Pizza will take over instead. ^_^
Lovely to see your progress, thanks for sharing. Early crafting methods have always intrigued me so it's neat to see your findings - I haven't tried making clay items yet but I did do a bit of leather. I agree that gold necklaces will solve all of your money issues. They're a really powerful money maker with a pretty low barrier to entry. I did a little bit of mining there, walking the gold to Draynor bank and back, and it wasn't too bad - a little under 4 minutes to bank and get back. I chose not to bother with it until 50+ combat though. I don't think the skeletons are much of a threat but constantly getting jumped by enemies while skilling makes me slowly go insane.
