Everything is as it should be without the wider distractions of P2P content, or worse - custom content.
Having picked up on this server a couple weeks ago, I chose it because of the truly vanilla gameplay coupled with the 4x XP rate. Grinding out at 1x XP is not something I'm keen to do again at this stage in life. But 4x is a nice balance of commitment and practicality.
I have been rediscovering the simple life of early-game content: relying almost solely on natural resources, NPC's, and shops. I've seen an occasional fellow adventurer on, but not often. It's enjoyable to go back to the peaceful skilling experience, unbothered by the clamor of PKing and player drama.
So far I've leveled some combat and a mix of various skills, with plans to accomplish some questing soon: the goals being to defeat the mighty Elvarg in single combat and achieve reasonable levels in most skills. These goals allow me to achieve a finishable "playthrough" of the game in which there is an ending point, unlike the typical Runescape experience.
A newly acquired set of Adamantite armor and matching battle axe is helping me stay safe against hordes of monsters. Now I'm planning to take on some Moss Giants next with the hopes of some interesting drops. Moss Giants are scary again, like they once were. And don't get me started on Lesser Demons!
But hey, THANKS for putting together a great server and making it available to us!
